
Peregraf– Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani held a phone call on Tuesday afternoon with Ton Barrack, the U.S. Ambassador to Turkey and Special Envoy for Syria, to discuss the latest developments in Syria and the wider region, according to a statement from the Kurdistan Region Presidency.
During the call, both sides exchanged views on the situation in Syria and emphasized that ongoing regional problems should be addressed through dialogue and mutual understanding.
Ambassador Barrack expressed his appreciation for President Barzani’s continued efforts to support stability and his constructive role in facilitating dialogue between Kurdish groups in Syria and the Syrian government in Damascus. He also urged President Barzani to maintain his positive engagement in helping resolve Kurdish issues in Syria peacefully.
The conversation underscored the importance of cooperation between regional actors and international partners to promote lasting peace and stability in Syria and the broader Middle East.
