Peregraf – A violent clash erupted on Friday in a village within the Rizgari district of Kalar following a dispute over cattle grazing land, leaving four people dead and seven others injured, a source familiar with the incident told Peregraf.
The victims were identified as three brothers and their cousin, all from the same family. The seven injured individuals—belonging to both sides of the conflict—were transferred to hospital for treatment. No further details were immediately available regarding their condition.
According to the source, the confrontation stemmed from a long-standing dispute between two families over the ownership and use of the grazing land, which escalated into armed violence.
Such incidents are not uncommon across the Kurdistan Region, where disputes over land and property—particularly agricultural and grazing areas—frequently lead to deadly clashes and serious injuries.
Local authorities have reportedly launched an investigation into the incident.
