Peregraf- Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid has welcomed the agreement reached between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian government, describing it as an important step toward resolving the conflict through peaceful means and ending ongoing hostilities.
In a statement, President Rashid said the agreement is of “fundamental importance” for strengthening stability in the region, stressing that its effective and genuine implementation could mark a pivotal starting point for protecting the rights of all nationalities and components in Syria.
He emphasized that such protection should be guaranteed within a permanent, inclusive, and just constitutional framework that ensures equal rights for all Syrians.
The Iraqi president expressed hope that the agreement would serve as a solid foundation for entrenching peace, reinforcing stability, advancing development, and bringing an end to cycles of war and destruction across all regions of Syria.
President Rashid reaffirmed Iraq’s support for political solutions and dialogue as the only viable path to lasting peace and stability in the region.
