Peregraf – Thirty-nine political parties and entities in Northern and Eastern Syria, predominantly Kurdish groups from Rojava, have officially expressed their support for the recently signed agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian government in Damascus.
The majority of these parties are aligned with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES). Many belong to the Kurdish National Unity Parties (PYNK), a coalition formed to support the SDF-led administration. The coalition described the deal as “historic and a true beginning for building a pluralistic, democratic Syria.”
In a joint statement, the signatories emphasized that “the rights of all components must be enshrined in the constitution,” adding that “every drop of blood spilled is a loss for all of Syria; protecting the lives and dignity of Syrians is the highest duty that must unite us all.”
Among the main endorsers are the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK), the Democratic Union Party (PYD), and the Kurdistan Democratic Party – Syria. The statement affirms: “We express our support for the agreement signed between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces, which is a historic and decisive step toward ending the civil war.”
The parties highlighted several key aspects of the agreement, including an immediate ceasefire, the withdrawal of forces from contact points, the phased integration of military, security, and administrative forces, the recognition of civil servants’ status, the acknowledgment of educational documents issued by the Autonomous Administration, and measures ensuring the return of displaced persons. They noted that these provisions “provide a practical and realistic framework for ending fragmentation and strengthening national coordination.”
Describing the agreement as a “genuine start for a comprehensive political path,” the signatories emphasized the need for a pluralistic, democratic Syria that safeguards the rights of all citizens based on justice and freedom. They stressed that resolving the Kurdish issue as part of Syria’s national agenda is a “cause of political struggle and a legitimate right” that must be guaranteed in a permanent constitution. Such a constitution, they argued, must recognize cultural, linguistic, and ethnic diversity and ensure the active participation of all groups in governance.
Furthermore, the coalition views the agreement as an essential step toward convening a comprehensive National Dialogue Congress to bring together all political and social forces in Syria. The goal is to chart the country’s future under a decentralized democratic framework that preserves Syria’s territorial integrity while enabling reconstruction, development, and revival.
The 39 parties called on all sides to fully commit to the agreement, build mutual trust, and work diligently toward its immediate implementation. They also urged Syrians at home and abroad to support the initiative and contribute to creating “a free, democratic, and prosperous Syria.”
