Phone Call Between Barzani and SDF Commander Focuses on Syria Developments and Agreement Implementation

Peregraf- On Sunday, February 1, 2026, Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani held a phone call with Mazloum Abdi, Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), to discuss the latest developments in Syria.

According to the Brazani headquarter, the call focused on steps to implement the agreement between the Syrian government and the SDF, as well as the broader political and security situation in the country. Both sides stressed the importance of addressing existing problems and outstanding issues through dialogue.

Barzani and Abdi also underscored the need to strengthen efforts aimed at establishing peace and stability in Syria, emphasizing that dialogue remains the most effective path toward resolving disputes and ensuring long-term stability.
