Drone and Missile Strike Hits Koya Camp as Iran War Enters Fourth Day

Peregraf - A drone and missile attack targeted Azadi Camp in Koya on Tuesday morning, leaving one person slightly injured, a familiar source told Peregraf.

The camp, located in Koya, houses families of Peshmerga fighters affiliated with the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI). No further casualties were reported.

The incident comes as the ongoing war involving the United States and Israel against Iran enters its fourth consecutive day. The conflict sharply escalated on its first day following reports of the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, alongside several senior military and political figures. These developments have significantly intensified instability across Iran and the wider region.

Kurdish Coalition Warns of “Decisive Phase” in Iran

Amid the escalating conflict, the newly formed Coalition of Political Forces of Iranian Kurdistan—which includes the PDKI—has issued its first official statement, warning that Iran is entering a “decisive and fateful phase.”

In “Announcement No. 1” dated March 2, 2026, the coalition said the situation inside Iran has shifted dramatically since February 28, citing rapid political and military developments and what it described as an accelerating collapse of the ruling system.

The coalition linked the turning point to the reported killing of Ali Khamenei and other high-ranking officials, saying these events have triggered a “domino effect” within Iran’s state structure.

“War Does Not Represent the Iranian People”

According to the statement, the ongoing war does not reflect the will of the Iranian population or its diverse national groups. Instead, the coalition blamed decades of policies by the Islamic Republic, including regional interference, militarization, and internal repression.

It argued that these policies have led to economic decline, international isolation, and widespread domestic unrest, culminating in what it described as a breaking point.

Key Calls to Civilians and Armed Forces

The coalition outlined several urgent directives:

• Defection Appeal: Security and military personnel were urged to abandon the government and “choose the side of their nation,” calling it a final opportunity amid unfolding events.

• Protect Public Institutions: Citizens were encouraged to safeguard infrastructure and administrative centers.

• Avoid Violence: The statement stressed restraint, urging people to avoid revenge or retaliatory acts.

• Safety Measures: Residents were advised to stay away from military and security sites.

• Social Solidarity: Emphasis was placed on supporting vulnerable groups, including displaced people and low-income families.

Coalition Composition and Objectives

The alliance, announced on February 22, brings together five major Kurdish opposition groups:

• Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK)

• Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK)

• Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI)

• Organization of Iranian Kurdistan Struggle (Khabat)

• Komala of the Toilers of Kurdistan

The coalition says it aims to unify political and organizational efforts against the Iranian government, arguing that the current system has lost its legitimacy.

A Critical Moment

Describing the current period as historically significant, the coalition warned that Iran and Iranian Kurdistan are entering “their most sensitive days.” It pledged to release further statements outlining its political vision and strategy as events unfold.

The strike on Koya’s Azadi Camp highlights the growing spillover risk of the conflict, as regional tensions, internal unrest, and leadership upheaval converge into what observers describe as a potentially transformative moment for Iran and the broader region.
