Peregraf — The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), also known as the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), said on Thursday that 32 airstrikes have targeted its headquarters across several Iraqi provinces since the beginning of March, killing 27 fighters and wounding 50 others.

In an official statement, the PMF condemned the aerial attacks, which it said were carried out by U.S. aircraft against what it described as official headquarters operating within Iraq's security apparatus.

According to the statement, the strikes targeted PMF positions in Diyala, Kirkuk, Anbar, Nineveh, Saladin, Wasit, and Babylon provinces.

The group said the attacks represent a significant escalation, adding that the casualties include fighters who were performing official duties, including personnel stationed at border areas.

The PMF said the targeted headquarters had no role in attacking American bases inside or outside Iraq, and described the fighters killed as personnel carrying out assigned security duties.

The PMF also stated that it operates under the authority of Iraq's Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and works in direct coordination with the Joint Operations Command across all security and military activities.

The organization called on Iraqi political forces to take a firm national stance and adopt clear measures to halt what it described as repeated violations.

The PMF described the attacks as a direct violation of Iraq's sovereignty and the dignity of its security forces.
