Peregraf — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Ministry of Interior said four suicide drones targeted the Kurdistan Region on Tuesday, marking a renewed wave of attacks despite a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
According to the ministry, the drones struck at different times on April 14, making it the second such attack on the region since the ceasefire was announced.
The ministry reiterated that the Kurdistan Region is not a party to the conflict and called for an end to such attacks.
“We have never been a party to any war or conflict. We demand that the stability of the Region and the peace of its citizens no longer be targeted,” the statement said.
The attacks highlight ongoing security threats in the Kurdistan Region despite expectations of de-escalation following the ceasefire.
