Peregraf — Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched new drone strikes against Kurdish opposition camps in the Kurdistan Region early Wednesday, as attacks by Iranian forces and Iran-backed Iraqi armed groups continue despite the US–Israel War on Iran ceasefire announced on April 8.

According to Kurdish opposition groups, two drones struck the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI) camp in Girde Chal on May 6. The camp houses families of PDKI members.

The strike came hours after another drone attack targeted the Komala camp in Surdash, near Sulaymaniyah, late Tuesday night.

Surdash Camp Hit Again

Two drones struck the Surdash camp in the border areas of Sulaymaniyah province, causing material damage but no reported casualties.

The camp, located in Dukan district, has repeatedly come under missile and drone attacks attributed to Iran.

Repeated Attacks Despite Ceasefire

Iranian and Iran-backed Iraqi armed group attacks against Kurdish opposition groups and sites in the Kurdistan Region have continued even after the ceasefire between the United States and Iran was announced on April 8.

According to local records, the Kurdistan Region and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are the only locations reportedly targeted by Iran since the ceasefire took effect.

Escalating Attacks on Kurdistan Region

The Kurdistan Region has faced an extensive wave of drone and missile attacks since February 28, linked to the broader US–Israel War on Iran.

According to Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) figures, 809 attacks were recorded between February 28 and April 20, resulting in 20 deaths and 123 injuries.

The strikes have targeted civilian areas, infrastructure, security personnel, Peshmerga forces, and members of Iranian Kurdish opposition groups based in the region.
