Peregraf- Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched a new wave of suicide drone attacks Friday morning targeting the Jejnikan residential camp in Erbil belonging to the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan, according to PDKI media.
The strike marks the second reported attack on the Jejnikan camp within three days. No casualties were reported.
The camp serves as a civilian residential area housing families of PDKI members.
According to the party, Iran has targeted PDKI family camps, medical facilities, and educational installations nearly 130 times with ballistic missiles and drones since the end of February.
Attacks Continue Despite Ceasefire
Iranian and Iran-backed Iraqi armed group attacks against Iranian Kurdish opposition groups in the Kurdistan Region have continued despite the ceasefire announced between the United States and Iran on April 8.
The latest strike comes amid ongoing regional tensions linked to the broader US-Israel war on Iran.
Hundreds of Attacks Recorded
According to figures released by the Kurdistan Regional Government, the Kurdistan Region recorded 809 drone and missile attacks between February 28 and April 20.
The attacks reportedly resulted in:
* 20 deaths
* 123 injuries
The strikes have targeted civilian areas, infrastructure, security personnel, Peshmerga forces, and Iranian Kurdish opposition groups based in the region.
Growing Security Concerns
Repeated strikes on camps hosting families of opposition groups have raised growing concerns about civilian safety and regional stability in the Kurdistan Region.
Iran has repeatedly accused Iranian Kurdish opposition parties based in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region of posing security threats, allegations the groups deny.
