Peregraf- Kurdish mixed martial artist Namo Fazil produced one of the standout performances at the inaugural MVP MMA 1 event in Los Angeles, submitting Jake Babian with an anaconda choke in the second round.

The fight took place at the Intuit Dome on the undercard of the "Rousey vs Carano" event, promoted by Most Valuable Promotions and streamed globally on Netflix.

Fazil secured the finish just 58 seconds into the second round, improving his professional MMA record to 10 wins and one defeat while claiming his seventh career stoppage.

Known mainly for his aggressive striking and Muay Thai background, Fazil surprised many observers by displaying composed grappling and strong ground control. After an intense opening round featuring heavy exchanges, takedown attempts and submission threats from Babian, the Kurdistan-born fighter shifted momentum early in the second round with a series of combinations that forced his opponent backwards.

When Babian attempted a takedown in response, Fazil defended effectively before locking in a tight anaconda choke, forcing an immediate tap-out.

Babian entered the contest on a five-fight winning streak, with all of those victories coming by knockout. The Hawaii-based welterweight started aggressively, landing spinning attacks, knees and high kicks while briefly threatening Fazil in dominant grappling positions during the opening round.

Despite Babian's explosive start, Fazil's conditioning, defensive awareness and adaptability proved decisive as the fight progressed.

Fazil began training in martial arts at the age of 15 in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and has steadily built a reputation across regional MMA and striking circuits. Before fully transitioning to MMA, he won multiple Muay Thai and kickboxing titles and also competed in Karate Combat, defeating Guilherme Bastos earlier this year.

The victory follows another stoppage win over Yakub Sulimanov in June and is expected to attract attention from larger MMA promotions seeking emerging welterweight talent.

With knockout power, improving grappling skills and a growing international profile, Fazil's performance in Los Angeles could represent a significant step forward in his pursuit of elite-level MMA competition.
