Peregraf — Iraqi President Nizar Amedi and Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaidi submitted their financial disclosure statements to Iraq's Federal Commission of Integrity (FCI) on Thursday, in a move each described as part of efforts to promote transparency within state institutions.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Media Office, al-Zaidi was the first member of his newly formed cabinet to comply with the requirements of the Federal Commission of Integrity and Illicit Gains Law No. 30 of 2011, as amended.

The statement said the prime minister also pledged to address any potential conflicts of interest identified under Iraqi law within the legally mandated timeframe.

President Also Discloses Assets

Separately, the Iraqi Presidency announced that President Amedi submitted his financial disclosure statement to the FCI on the same day.

The presidency said the move reflects Amedi's compliance with legal procedures governing asset disclosure and his stated commitment to strengthening "the principles of integrity and transparency" and public trust in state institutions.

Government Push on Transparency

Al-Zaidi had previously directed all ministers in his cabinet to disclose their financial assets within one week of taking office.

In his first address after assuming office, the prime minister identified combating financial and administrative corruption as one of the central priorities of his government, describing corruption as a major obstacle to development and reform in Iraq.

The Federal Commission of Integrity oversees asset declarations, illicit enrichment investigations, and anti-corruption measures involving Iraqi public officials.
