Peregraf- Iraq's four highest constitutional authorities met in Baghdad on Wednesday to discuss political, security, and economic developments, emphasizing the need to complete the federal cabinet, advance legislative reforms, and ensure that all weapons remain exclusively under state control.

The meeting brought together President Nizar Amidi, Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi, and President of the Supreme Judicial Council Faiq Zaidan.

According to a statement from the Iraqi Presidency, the leaders reviewed recent developments in Iraq and the wider region and reaffirmed their support for government efforts aimed at addressing political, economic, and security challenges.

The meeting stressed the importance of completing the remaining cabinet appointments as soon as possible and supporting measures undertaken by the federal government to strengthen state institutions and improve governance.

Participants also called for the passage of key legislation and amendments to investment-related laws, arguing that legal reforms are necessary to attract investment, stimulate economic growth, and improve the business environment.

On security, the four presidencies reiterated that weapons must remain exclusively in the hands of the state, describing the principle as a fundamental pillar of the rule of law and an essential requirement for strengthening state authority and national stability.

The issue remains one of the most sensitive in Iraqi politics, where successive governments have pledged to strengthen state control over armed groups while navigating complex political and security realities.

The meeting comes amid ongoing regional tensions and domestic efforts to advance economic reforms, improve public services, and strengthen coordination among Iraq's key institutions.

The Iraqi Presidency said the participants underscored the importance of continued cooperation between the executive, legislative, and judicial branches to address the country's challenges and support stability and development.
