Peregraf — Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council announced that investigators have seized $11 million and 4 billion Iraqi dinars during the ongoing corruption investigation involving Ali Maarij al-Bahadli, the detained Deputy Oil Minister for Distribution Affairs.

According to the Judicial Council, the cash was recovered as part of investigations into al-Bahadli, who was arrested in connection with the expanding corruption case linked to former Deputy Oil Minister for Refining Affairs Adnan al-Jumaili.

The council also released photographs showing the seized cash packed inside bags and concealed within the walls of al-Bahadli’s house, where investigators discovered the hidden money during searches.

The investigation is part of Iraq’s widening anti-corruption campaign, which has led to the arrest of several members of parliament and senior government officials, with authorities saying additional suspects remain under investigation.
