KRG Says More Than 841 Billion IQD Received for June Salaries, Distribution to Begin Soon
Peregraf — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Ministry of Finance announced on Monday that 841.161 billion Iraqi dinars (IQD) for June salaries has been deposited into its account at the Erbil branch of the Central Bank of Iraq, with salary payments set to begin as soon as administrative procedures are completed.
In a statement, the ministry said the Iraqi Ministry of Finance again deducted 120 billion IQD from the total allocation, representing the federal treasury’s share of the Kurdistan Region’s non-oil revenues for June.
The ministry also said Baghdad withheld an additional 3.326 billion IQD, describing it as previous salary entitlements for civilian and military retirees that were not included in the June transfer.
According to the statement, the funds have been deposited into the KRG Ministry of Finance and Economy’s account, and once the cash is received from the Erbil branch of the Central Bank and all procedures are finalized, the salary payment schedule will be published.
“The distribution of June salaries will begin at the earliest opportunity,” the ministry said.
