Komala of the Toilers of Kurdistan Camp in Surdash Hit by Missile Strike Hours After Deadly Attack on Rival Komala Faction

Peregraf- A headquarters of Komala of the Toilers of Kurdistan in the Surdash area of Sulaymaniyah province was struck by two missiles on Friday afternoon, wounding two members, a senior party official told Peregraf. 

Amjad Hussein Panahi, a member of the party's leadership, said the attack occurred at around 12:30 p.m. local time.

"Our headquarters were bombarded with two missiles," Panahi told Peregraf.

He said two members of the party were wounded in the strike.

The attack came just hours after a separate missile strike targeted the headquarters of the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan (Revolutionary Toilers' Party of Iranian Kurdistan) — a different, larger Komala faction — in the Zargwez area of Sulaymaniyah early Friday morning.

According to the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan, at least nine of its Peshmerga fighters were killed and several others wounded in that earlier attack. There has been no immediate official confirmation of the reported casualty toll from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) or Iraqi authorities.

In a statement, the Kurdistan Region Presidency strongly condemned the attacks, calling them "a dangerous escalation" and "a flagrant violation of Iraq's sovereignty."

"The targeting of the Kurdistan Region and the resumption of violence is a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of Iraq's sovereignty," the presidency said, adding that the attacks threaten Iraq's stability and undermine regional peace efforts.

The latest strikes also came hours after the Kurdistan Region Security Council's Directorate General of Counter Terrorism (CTD) announced that Coalition forces had intercepted and shot down eight explosive-laden drones over Erbil between 4:19 a.m. and 5:25 a.m. Friday, highlighting a sharp deterioration in the security situation across the Kurdistan Region.

The attacks come amid the escalating US-Israel War on Iran, following the collapse of an earlier ceasefire, with both sides exchanging strikes across the region, according to international reports.
