Three people were killed in a Turkish drone strike targeting a vehicle in Sulaimaniyah this afternoon.
The car was targeted in the Khalkan area, and the deceased were among the passengers.
The Dukan district governor confirmed that "two victims in the vehicle accident were a father and son from the Raparin administration, while the third victim remains unidentified due to burns". Local sources suggest that the unidentified victim is also the man's son.

Turkey’s airstrikes on the Kurdistan Region of Iraq persist under the pretext of targeting PKK fighters. Last evening, a civilian was killed due to Turkish bombing of the village of Merka Hosh in the Sidekan area.
On August 23, 2024, a Turkish drone targeted a vehicle carrying media journalists affiliated with the PKK near Sidekan, resulting in the deaths of two journalists and injuries to another.
According to the CPT, an organization that monitors conflict zones, 12 civilians have been killed in Turkish attacks and military operations in the Kurdistan Region since the beginning of the year. The organization reported that "among these, 10 civilians were killed and two others injured, with five of the victims in the Sidekan area."
