Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region Government, announced that Sulaimaniyah province has emerged as the leading city for investment in Iraq over the past three years, according to statistical data. Furthermore, the highest level of investment recorded since 2003 has occurred during this recent three-year period in the province.
"According to statistics, Sulaymaniyah has been the top province in Iraq for investment, with record levels achieved in these three years," Talabani stated.
He emphasized the government's commitment to expanding the region's economic infrastructure, stating, "We have big dreams and stronger plans to strengthen the economic infrastructure. We will continue to support investors with all our might and will strongly confront anyone who obstructs them."
Highlighting recent achievements, Talabani shared a video of a red brick factory in the Chamchamal district. The factory, producing between 1,000 and 1,200 tons of bricks daily, has created over 250 direct jobs and 300 indirect jobs.
Sulaymaniyah’s economic success continues to grow, with more than 50 projects across eight sectors receiving over $2.6 billion in capital investment last year. These achievements mark a peak in development not seen in the past 20 years.
The province now accounts for 30% of Iraq's industry and 60% of the Kurdistan Region’s industrial output, according to the latest investment statistics.
