Masoud Barzani, the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), has emphasized the importance of "adhering to the constitution and agreements, engaging in dialogue, and fostering goodwill" as a means to address the challenges facing the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad. He further stated, "The struggles and sacrifices of Kurdistan should not be minimized to mere salary issues, nor should there be any efforts to fragment the Kurdistan Region."

Following two days of discussions with the Economic Council of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), a delegation from the Iraqi Economic Ministerial Council paid a visit to the KDP leader.

A statement released by Barzani Headquarters indicated that the visiting delegation emphasized the value of their discussions with the KRG. They expressed their intention to engage with all parties in a climate of trust, aiming for transparency and constructive dialogue to achieve a comprehensive understanding that would facilitate the resolution of issues and the elimination of obstacles.

Masoud Barzani conveyed to the Iraqi delegation during the meeting that the historical significance, struggles, and numerous sacrifices of Kurdistan should not be reduced merely to the matter of salaries. He emphasized that there should be no efforts to undermine the integrity of the Kurdistan Region. The rights of the Kurdish people must be acknowledged, and reparations for the Anfal campaign and chemical attacks should be granted.

Barzani stated that the most effective approach to address the challenges is to embrace a strategy of comprehension and communication between the Iraqi federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government.

“In order to address the issues at hand, it is essential for everyone to adhere to the constitution and comply with the political agreement established by the parties within the State Administration Coalition,” KDP leader said.

Barzani has conveyed his gratitude for the contributions and initiatives of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Sudani aimed at "eliminating obstacles and addressing challenges." He emphasized that "in addition to adhering to the constitution and political agreements, a spirit of goodwill and sincere intent is essential for resolving these issues."
