The Duhok Health Directorate has confirmed that three members of a family in Bardarash district have been infected with hemorrhagic fever. The infected individuals, two brothers and their mother, are currently receiving medical care after laboratory tests confirmed the presence of the hepatitis virus.

This marks the latest in a series of hemorrhagic fever cases reported across the Kurdistan Region. Earlier in May, a fatal case was recorded in the Aqra region.

Hemorrhagic fever is a viral infection transmitted from animals to humans and can spread between humans. The virus has seen a resurgence in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region in recent years, leading to several fatalities.

Symptoms of hemorrhagic fever include a sudden high fever, severe muscle and back pain, fainting, and vomiting. In advanced stages, patients may experience bleeding from the mouth, nose, and, in severe cases, the eyes and ears.
