Omar Said Ali officially transferred his responsibilities to Dana Ahmad Majid during a ceremony held in Sulaymaniyah. This transition of authority to Dana Ahmad Majid as the temporary and acting General Coordinator of the Gorran Movement was necessitated by a letter from the Iraqi Independent High Election Commission (IHEC), citing Omar Said Ali's health issues.
In this context, Omar Said Ali designated Dana Ahmad Majid to oversee the operations of the Gorran Movement for a period of six months. During this time, it is expected that the internal constitution of Gorran and the movement's activities will be restructured in accordance with the directives of the Election Commission.
Although the ceremony was intended to take place at Zargata Hill, the main headquarters of Gorran, it was obstructed by Chia Nawshirwan Mustafa, the owner of the Hill, who erected a concrete barrier at the entrance due to ongoing internal disputes within the party.
An earlier comprehensive report by Peregraf examined the internal issues within Gorran, highlighting the distinctions between the sons of Nawshirwan Mustafa and the faction led by Omar Said Ali.
