Clashes erupted this morning between border guard forces and members of the PKK in the Zakho district of Duhok. Two border guards lost their lives in the confrontation, while another was wounded.
“Two border guards, Ali Ramazan and Mehvan Naji, were killed, and another was wounded in a clash between border guards and PKK guerrillas in the Batifa district of Zakho province,” Zakho health spokesperson Amir Ali told Peregraf.
“The injured guard has been transferred to Zakho General Hospital, and their condition is stable,” he added.
Ali Ramazan, a resident of the Semel district, and Mehvan Naji, a resident of Duhok.
