Turkish drones struck two vehicles and a PKK hideout in the village of Galala, located in the Mawat district of Sulaymaniyah province, on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of three PKK members, including a military official.

The Erbil-based Directorate General of Counter Terrorism (CTD), also known as Kurdistan CT, linked to the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), stated that the airstrikes occurred around 10:45 and 11:00 p.m. Additionally, CTD reported that two other PKK members are currently missing.

Turkey regularly conducts airstrikes in the Kurdistan Region, targeting PKK positions, as it classifies the group as a terrorist organization.

The PKK has not issued any official statements regarding the incident.

Earlier Drone Strike in Raniya Kills Four

On January 27, 2025, a separate drone strike in the village of Grdjan, located in the Chawarqurna district of Raniya (part of Sulaymaniyah province), killed four people who were traveling in a Toyota Land Cruiser. The attack, which PKK-affiliated media outlets attribute to the Turkish military, took place near Qandil Mountain, a known PKK stronghold.

Media outlets affiliated with the PKK have identified two of the four victims as:

- Haifa Al-Arabo (Salha Vian), a member of the Kongra Star Coordination Committee.

- Dilawar Al-Arabo (Hawker Darbasiyah), a member of the Democratic Union Party (PYD).
